“YG ON AIR” episode 2 featuring 2NE1’s “Lonely” MV set, Big Bang’s Japanese tour, and more!!
A new episode of YG Entertainment’s “YG ON AIR” aired on May 6th, and although there were no live performances of any sort, it was still filled to the brim with exclusive YG-related footage.
”YG ON AIR” is a collaboration with Korean portal site Naver, and it consists of media content that YG Entertainment directly produces. YG had planned this for a long time, as they had always wanted to break away from the frames of broadcast programs and create fun content based on their own ideas.
This week’s broadcast featured news and updates on Big Bang’s Japanese tour, as well as news onWill.I.Am’s visit to the YG Entertainment building. The music video film set for 2NE1’s new song ‘Lonely‘ was also shown briefly, with the full video scheduled for release on May 12th.

CN Blue choose UEE over IU?!
On April 7th, CNBLUE guested on SBS Power FM’s “Choi Ha Jung’s Power Time” and put their teamwork to the test by answering a series of questions that asked them to choose ‘A’ or ‘B’. Should they choose the same answer, they’d pass the round.
Hilariously, the boys failed to get it right when asked to choose between a ‘kiss and back hugs’ and ‘intellectual charm and ingenuous beauty’, but came to a concensus when asked to choose between ‘IUand After School’s UEE‘.
All four members had exclaimed, “UEE!”
The group immediately expressed their surprise and stared at one another in awe while listeners enviously commented, “UEE must be happy.” When asked to choose between abs or a cute behind, the members all chose abs, rounding out their teamwork points to two.
Their interview transitioned onto the topic of their ideal women, to which Jonghyun replied, “Someone who’s fun to be with.” Jungshin added, “I’d like an older woman that has a higher mental age,” whileYonghwa stated, “A girl with clear eyes and long, straight hair.”
Minhyuk surprised the rest by replying, “I want to meet a variety of different women, but my ideal woman is gagwoman Song Euni.”

BigBang unleashes special edition EP!!
This week has been dominated by the numerous teasers Big Bang rolled out for their special edition mini-album, and it’s only a small tidbit of the success the boys will achieve in the following weeks.

BigBang’s Daesung and Seungri Photos Used to Endorse Gay Website in China Without Authorization
Big Bang’s Daesung and Seungri’s stolen pictures appears to be on an explicit gay site in China which provoked vicious arguments among netizens.
On an online community site, a netizens uploaded on a bulletin board a humorous photo of Daesung and Seungri in a banner photo promoting the Chinese site www.shgay.com. Netizens were enthralled with confusion and the suspicion of stealing had many talking.
Clearly seen in the photo, Seungri and Daesung are posing together and pointing at the banner sign promoting the website.
“This is stealing”, “The law should be controlling this”, “This is very damaging.” were such heated reactions from the netizens.

Yong Hwa gives Seohyun a back hug on “We Got Married”
On this week’s episode of MBC’s “We Got Married”, SNSD’s Seohyun presented her ‘husband’,CNBLUE’s Yong Hwa, with a surprise gift after their long day of shooting their wedding photos.
Seohyun started off by saying, “It’s cold”. Yong Hwa replied cunningly, “What do you want me to do? Do you want me to hug you or what?” Seohyun rebuked, “What exactly are you thinking of doing?” It was then when Yong Hwa suddenly gave Seohhyun a back hug and said, “I know you like it, don’t pretend like you don’t, cause I see it all in your eyes.”
Seohyun then revealed to Yong Hwa that she had a surprise gift for him, but Yong Hwa continued to joke around, as he replied, “Like what? You made a scarf? Gloves? A mask?”
In the end, Seohyun really did knit a scarf for her ‘husband’, making Yong Hwa want to retract his words.
During their interviews with the PD, Seohyun light-heartedly expressed, “He has no sense whatsoever. I just wanted to give him a gift out of gratitude.” Yong Hwa also expressed his thankfulness for the present, as he said, “I was really sorry. I actually wear it around every day these days.”

Jessica Sings “Happy Birthday” to Park Minyoung
March 4th marks a special day for our very own Jessica as her caring unnie, Park Minyoung, is celebrating her birthday in a few hours!

Earlier today, Girls’ Generation flew to Japan to attend a schedule, and Jessica made sure that she wished her unnie a happy birthday before leaving. Jessica pretended that Park Minyoung was twenty and sang “Happy Birthday” through the phone. Park Minyoung tweeted about it, but deleted it soon afterwards. Luckily, though, some fans have managed to take a screencap of her tweet!

Photos of SNSD member Jessica posing by bending her neck has been garnering interest.
On the 17th, an online community site posted a topic with these photos under the title of ‘My Neck Hurts Whenever I Look At You’.
In the photos, Jessica can be seen making the same pose by bending her neck in the same direction, making it easy for people to spot her. Based on the pictures, it looks as if she tries to show the left side of her face to the camera.

The SNSD girls have once again proven their international popularity, recently topping a Valentine’s Day survey conducted by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health in collaboration with Suan Dusit Poll.
Out of 431 males and 581 females between the ages of 12 - 24, 47% replied that they already had a lover; roses were elected as the most sought-after gift, traveling was chosen as the best activity to share with a lover, the most romantic place to according to Thai teens was proven to be the sea, while lovers beat out parents when it came to who people wanted to give their Valentine’s Day gifts. SNSD came out on top when the topic was which celebrity Thai youths wished to be their Valentine; beating out Thai hotties Nadech Kugimiya and Pae Arak Amornsupasiri, singers Natthew and Bie The Star, and politician Abhisit Vejjajiva.
Popular Korean portal site, Daum, also held a poll with the topic “Good Songs For Confessing to a Girl on Valentine’s Day”. “Oh!”, the lead track from SNSD’s second full-album came in at lucky number 9; quite a feat considering it’s a track completely directed at males. However, it does carry the message any male would want to hear from the object of their affections.

Meet BigBang At LA Airport!!!
A few hours ago, I saw 5 of them in the airport. I’m a VIP living in LA; I received rumour/news saying BIGBANG will be flying back to Korea from LA tonight! I was hesitating to go, because I wasn’t sure if I would be able to see them. In the end I decided to go so that I won’t regret. So I immediately speed my car rushing to the airport, and took these photos.
What I can say…luckily I went, or else I would have missed everything! The first person I saw was the cutest maknae Seungri. I looked at him for a long while, because I was too shocked. Staring at Seungri, I
kept patting my sister. My sister saw him and immediately turned back to me, because she was shocked too. Then we clumsily ran to get Seungri’s autograph, showing him GD&TOP’s album. Seungri saw it and said “BIGBANG” pointing to another 4 members. I think he meant “sorry you found a wrong person, I’m not GD&TOP.” Getting out Seungri’s album, my sister said, “No no no.” Immediately Seungri smiled happily. He is really a cute innocent kid. He asked us where we are from,
we said we’re from Taiwan, but live here. I want to let him know there are many Taiwanese support and like them!
Then I looked for other 4 members, soon I found Jiyong, TOP, Taeyang, and Daesung. They were checking in. My sister and I stood in a distance looking at them. We wanted to go closer to take photos, but the officers didn’t let us to do so.
I think Seungri was done checking in so he was walking around. When we were waiting to ask for GD’s autograph, Seungri talked to us in Korean. At first my sister and I had no response, then when we
realized it, he was asking us do we know how to speak Korean. We said “No, just a little.” Then Seungri didn’t say anything else XD
We were thinking how to call Jiyong. It seemed strange to call real name nor “Ah!”. We were afraid he was going to leave soon, so my sister called softly “GD!”, and Jiyong turned back and gave us autograph XD. After that TOP gave us autograph too.
What made us frustrated was that…because we forgot to bring Bebe’s (Taeyang) album, while Daesung didn’t have solo album; “Cotton Candy” was a digital single, not even in a single album. When my sister was getting TOP’s autograph, Daesung and Bebe walked in front of me towards them. I kept looking at them, but I got nothing to let them to sign. At first I wanted to let them sign on my iPod, but I was afraid that, those 3 members sign on their own album, but they got to sign on an iPod as if they are neglected. I saw Daesung smile a bit, that smile made me feel regretful. If I have brought their stuff to let him sign, how good that could be. Even if it doesn’t have (translator note: not sure what she exactly means here), I would like to shake hand with him, telling him I appreciate his talents! So I have decided, when Daesung releases solo album, I will buy 10 to repay him! (Translator note: OH MY DAESUNG! I will do that too!)
Seeing all 5 of them, I have no regret in my life now. They are very cute but very skinny, especially Daesung, I was really shocked that he is so skinny! I hope they will take care of their health, don’t get
too tired!

SNSD Talk About Their Dior CF on Midnight TV
On February 10th Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Tiffany, Sunny, and Jessica, the six members of Girls’ Generation who were recently signed on as models for Christian Dior cosmetics, made an appearance at SBS’s Midnight TV Entertainment to talk about their new experience filming a Dior CF. While the segment was short, it was full of hilarious and cute moments.
The girls looked as radiant and cheery as ever, both in beauty and personality. As always, Hyoyeon threw in some unexpected phrases at the most perfectly awkward timing, making for huge laughs. Jessica seemed almost unable to hold her composure throughout the interview, while Sooyoung wittily commented that before joining Girls’ Generation, she was the most beautiful girl she knew, to the delight of many.
One large focus of the interview was that while everyone got to act nice and pretty in the CF, Yuri transformed into mean girl (a beautiful mean girl, mind you). She yelled at a young man in the CF before throwing some sheets of paper unto the floor. Afterwards, Yuri’s cello playing skills were revealed for all to see!Finally, Tiffany and Sunny commented on their shockingly different make-up habits, and Tiffany revealed what other CF she’d like to film. All in all it’s one of those short but sweet delights. It may be just a few minutes long, but it’s so full of the girls being themselves that any SONE would be delighted to watch it.

Seo In announcer wearing Yoon Doojoon’s clothes, perfectly reenacting BEAST’s ‘Breathe,’ ‘Explosive masculinity’
MBC’s announcer Seo In, who graduated from Seoul National University’s College of Physical Training, transformed into a beastly man with BEAST’s dance.
On MBC’s New Years Special ‘Dugun Dugun Star Studio of Love’ that aired on February 2nd, announcer Seo In showed a different kind of charm from his normal clean and upright image.
In order to display charming appeal, Seo In danced perfectly to BEAST’s ‘Breathe’ and showed off his explosive masculine appeal. He impressed all the female stars with this tough appeal. Seo In showed his enthusiasm by not only practicing the dance in his spare time but even borrowing clothes from Yoon Doojoon.

T-ARA’s Hyomin Apologize to BigBang’s Seungri!
Girl group member T-ara’s Hyomin apologize for using Banmal (semi-formal) language with her senior Big Bang’s Seungri. Hyomin left a message on her Twitter stating:
“Watching the show now, had a lot of fun with Seungri that day, but seems to have gone overboard even though we wanted to be comfortable with each other right from the start. Although it was discussed beforehand, it still seems a bit inappropriate, sorry. Hope he (Seungri) will not be hurt by what I said.”
This is in reference to the SBS Idol King program aired last Feb 2 (watch the subbed videos here), where Hyomin used Banmal in a water game with Seungri. She said “He (in Banmal) is a little strange”,”He (in Banmal) is too short” during the course of the game.

SNSD filming of a new drama!
The sponsors of popular girl group SNSD made an official announced regarding the possible filming of a new drama based on SNSD.
SM entertainment, the sponsors of SNSD, stated through a phone call with “MoneyToday Star News”
that “(SNSD members) are not planning to be part of any drama”. In addition, SM revealed that SNSD
will be focusing on their foreign(international) performances, so they are not planning on starting
in any drama”.
